We supplied and installed 97 Pay-By-Space Metropolis terminals and integrated these with new space sensors and their existing handheld enforcement system. This has resulted in a much cleaner looking streetscape, reduction in cash collections and unnecessary maintenance visits to meters while introducing an audit trail and full reconciliation of all moneys and enforcement.

Palmerston North, NZ

Client: Palmerston North City Council / Palmerston North, New Zealand / 2011 Palmerston North GPS supplied and installed 200 Metropolis Pay by Plate terminals connected to 4000 fully integrated sensors for Palmerston North City Council in New Zealand. The sensors communicate directly to the terminals reducing the need to set up additional backhaul. The system enables more effective enforcement by alerting enforcement officers to parking violations in real time and has led to an 80% increase in compliance. Our system has also provided the data needed to introduce dynamic pricing strategies.

Client: EasyPark / City of Vancouver / Stanley Park, Vancouver, Canada / 2011 – 2012 CS Vancouver 674px W GPS installed 68 Metropolis Pay by Plate terminals at Stanley Park, Vancouver and integrated a Genetec AutoVu vehicle-mounted License Plate Recognition (LPR) system with our EziCom2 central management system. Enforcement is now automated with pay stations transmitting paid license plate information to the EziCom2 central management system in real time. This information is shared with Genetec via Ezicom’s published API allowing real-time enforcement via the patrolling vehicle.

Client: Penn State Harrisburg / Middletown, Pennsylvania, USA / 2002 – 2011 Penn State GPS supplied and installed six, third-generation Metropolis Pay & Display terminals at Penn State Harrisburg College in Middletown, Pennsylvania. The new units replaced first-generation Metropolis terminals installed in 2002 that ran smoothly for more than nine years. The new terminals will allow the client to build a database of their users, enabling them to better understand their customers and how they use their facilities.

Client: Borough of Haddonfield / New Jersey, USA / 2011 New Jersey GPS supplied and installed 6 Metropolis Pay & Display and 9 Metropolis Pay by Space parking terminals in Haddonfield, New Jersey, offering a user-friendly customer interface, durable stainless steel and aluminum construction, fast credit cards processing, and the ability to manage two different long and short-term parking tariffs for each parking bay. The results were a vastly improved user experience, 3-second average credit card authorization times, and improved resistance by the terminals to the corrosive winter environment.

Client: United Parking Systems / West Palm Beach, Florida, USA / 2010 West Palm Beach GPS provided a total parking solution in West Palm Beach, Florida, including Metropolis Pay by Plate parking terminals linked by our EziCom2 parking management system to provide centralized, real-time monitoring and reporting of the entire parking operation. We eliminated ‘pass-backs’ of parking tickets, reduced cash leakage, and improved enforcement outcomes by feeding real-time parking data to handheld PDAs. The client became the first US parking management company to offer online credit card payments for small surface lots, which has enabled them to attract new customers.
